Want to enter the Licensed Trade?

Help entering the licensed or pub trade with a one or two day training courses from licensed trade independent trainers Leading Landlords. Learn how to buy and run a pub or bar. All to often help for those wishing to enter the licensed trade is only offered by interested parties such as pub vendors, pub company rep's or big breweries. All of these sources of help have one overriding motive as to why they provide those wishing to take on a pub with assistance and that is to sell an establishment to them. Though no one is saying that the advice they will give is going to be bad advice but that it might just be a bit "coloured" in their favor.

At leading Landlords we offer not just affordable training courses for those wishing to open a pub, bar or any licensed business (on sales only) but also offer on site bar business reviews and training for those already in management positions within the licensed trade. Our courses and review services offer targeted impartial advice. We are dedicated to helping both those coming into the pub trade and those already running established businesses.

Leading Landlords aims to go to its customers and does not expect its customers to have traveled very far to attend a training course with us. We hire function rooms in licensed premises, this intern helps the pub trade in a small way by putting money back into establishments who's owners have been our customers in the past.

boarded upHeadlines these days tell one half of a big story, they report how many pubs and clubs are closing each month but they rarely report how many are re-opened. Yes large numbers are closing but very few of them remain permanently closed. The pub-Co's are always looking for fresh blood to enter the licensed trade and with it comes fresh money. So many pubs are subsidised by the new landlord's money that without a good turnover of new landlords they would be closed permanently. How many new Landlords has your local had in the past few years? If it is a lot then the chances are the Pub has not made a profit for years and has only been kept open by those poor souls who have ploughed their own money into it. Foolishly believing that they can, without any prior knowledge of the pub trade, turn the business around.

Many of the new recruits have the money to put up but seriously lack the knowledge to run a successful pub and they quickly find that they are out of their depth without a life line. The most common complaint we receive is that after people had signed the lease all the promised help and support vanished into thin air.
