How to enter the Licensed Trade?
Basic one day course
Our basic one day course is designed for those thinking of entering the pub or licensed trade who have limited or no knowledge of the licensed trade. The courses are held regularly up and down the country. They generally start at 9.30 AM and finish at 4.30 PM with a 30 minute break for lunch at 12 midday. For those that smoke regular smoking breaks will be held throughout the day.
The cost of the course is £75 per person (couples can book for £100.00 per pairing) there is no VAT to pay and the price includes lunch (sometimes buffet style other times a plated meal depending on the venue). No course will exceed 30 persons in total.

How to research your target pub including checking figures and barrelage, the surrounding area, the competition and viability of the business and knowing when to walk away from a deal.

The do's and don't's of buying pubs and bars including how to structure your business to give you the maximum protection should things go wrong.
What documents you will need, who you have to inform, what the vendor should be providing.
The essentials of choosing staff, business plans and financing your venture.
